To all of you that celebrate it, let me wish you a Merry Christmas. To those of you that do not, let me instead wish you a happy holiday season of your choice.

Before I get into my little Christmas miracle, let me shed a little backstory on things. When I stepped back from Pokemon fiction, I had already had about 7 chapters of Shadows of Deceit written. After about a month, by some fantastic stretch of the mind, I managed to misplace the notebook I had transcribed these chapters in. Don't ask me how, I don't honestly remember, nor did I remember where I had lost it, be it at my actual home or at my apartment I stayed at during the school season. Despite searching, I could not find it at either location. Given my recent interest and rewriting of ASSiS, I had made it a point to scour my room during my visit home for Christmas. Obviously, this morning and much of the day was spent opening gifts and having a grand time with family.

When said family retired about an hour ago, I came downstairs to change into my own PJs. I knew where I had kept the binders holding the notebooks within which ASSiS and ST were written, along with the binder that I knew I had started writing SoD in. For the longest time, I was convinced that the misplaced notebook was within. Surprise, surprise, it wasn't. I stood up resignedly and muttered "I bet it's somewhere up at school." Literally no sooner had those words come out of my mouth than my eye drifted to the cabinet where I keep all of my old issues of Nintendo Power, catching something that looked like the wire of a spiral-bound notebook near the top of the stack. Figuring "Why not?" I slid the two magazines off the top. The backing of the notebook had been torn off, so I could read the words on the page immediately. Not something I had written for ASSiS or ST, yet it mentioned the same characters. Flipped the notebook over to look at the first page, and bam, there it was; "Shadows of Deceit" written across the top. After two years, I had finally found the damn thing!

Of course, I sat down and started reading it. Honestly, I had forgotten I had turned things up to such a level in the first four chapters. I actually put it down for a moment and went "Oh sh*t..." out of pure shock.

I've kept you all waiting long enough for this story, so here's how we're going to do things. I'll go back through the first 7 chapters of SoD and bring them up to speed with what writing tricks I've learned. Once that's done, I'll release them in between the chapters of the current New Game Project, and then alternate between chapter releases. So far, the rewriting of ASSiS has been incredibly easy, with Chapter 2 done and awaiting its pre-readers and Chapter 3 about half done.

It's hard to explain how ecstatic I am about this discovery with mere words, so allow me to make a comparison. As happy as I was to see a Wii U under the tree, it's nothing compared to how excited I am to have found Shadows of Deceit again.

For those of you that still tune into this channel, allow me to interrupt your regularly scheduled period of ABSOLUTELY NOTHING HAPPENING with something actually relevant and exciting.

Recently, nostalgia put me into a headlock and turned my eyes to reading Shattered Truths. As I read on, I realized something. With each chapter that went by, I found myself clicking the link to the next one not because of nostalgia, but because I wanted to read it. I was enjoying it as a reader would. I grew up with (and in the case of Rusty. Sapphire, Rosalyn, and Saffron, watched them grow up) these characters. Many of you did the same, genuinely adoring these stories, despite them being my first-ever fictions and being rife with hiccups and shortcomings.

In the past few days, I've received comments from readers both new and old, with nothing but praise for these adventures. My coming back to ASSiS and ST mere days before reading these comments is no coincidence.

As such, I am instating what shall be known as the New Game Project, wherein I will be taking every bit of experience from my six years of writing and pouring it into a complete overhaul of both A Sapphire Shines in Sinnoh and Shattered Truths. You heard me; complete overhaul. Trim out the fluff, add in details, explore and develop different facets of the characters, and bring it up to the quality it deserves to be. The events and characters will remain as you know them, but quality is getting upped to 12/10.

Of course, this is no simple task, and to make sure each and every one of these 225K+ words is given attention, I have brought the three best writers I know onto the New Game Project.

---------------

:iconxivcaliber: XIVcaliber: As one of the few people who called me on errors while Shattered Truths was still in production, I have brought him onto the team as my main grammatical proofreader. Damn knowledgeable when it comes to Pokemon, too.

---------------

:icondeertraxart: DeerTraxArt: I met this fine fellow during my time as a brony. He shall be joining the New Game Project as my second filter for grammatical errors and awkward wordings. A wonderful artist, author, and an Eevee fan after my own heart.

---------------

:iconwes1234: Wes1234: Many of you familiar with ASSiS should also be very familiar with this name. We spun our stories alongside each other, constantly pushing one another to better our writings. I can't count the wee morning hours spent chatting with this guy, bouncing ideas off of one another. The ST you all know was very much shaped by this author. If there's one person I'd look to for a final quality check on each chapter of this project, it's this guy.

---------------

There you have it, folks.

You know the team.

You know the story.

Buckle up.

March has always been a personally special time for me. Y'know, birthdays and whatnot. This March in particular, however is of extra importance. Let's look back in time, one year from this day; March 22nd, 2011. I found a little something called Friendship is Magic. I was sucked in instantly. Today is the one year anniversary of my induction into the herd, and I've loved every minute of it. In fact, just two days ago, during a routine Tuesday trip to Mcdonalds, I found myself ponying (lolpun) up for one of the toys. There are now a total of nine pastel colored ponies sitting on my desktop as I type this out. Expect that number to grow as the next blindbag set and Nightmare Moon come out. Speaking of Nightmare Moon, I've got a birthday gift coming in from WeLoveFine. I should have it by Friday. Maybe I'll put up a picture of it or something.

Oh, and before I go, here's the thing most of you actually want to hear.
Chapter 10 of Storms On the Horizon is at 70% completion (21/30 pages).

Will someone please turn my brain off? I mean, seriously?

I am all of eight chapters into Storms On the Horizon, and I already have ideas for four more fanfictions; three of them of the shipping variety, and the other one involving an OC. Quick, someone hand me an "Off" switch.

On second thought, I think it might be too late for that. Chew on this for a sec.

Last night at dinner, while waiting for my burger to arrive, I pull out my iPod Touch that I received for Christmas (I had forgotten how much I missed my old one since it went belly-up) with the intention of jotting down notes, potential titles, and what-have-you for these four other fics I have spinning around in my head so I could keep them organized. Yeah... That's what I was expecting to do. Then my brain was all "LOLNOPE. Fcuk taht!" and shifted into full-on fic-writing mode. By the time I went to bed that night I had an eighteen point outline that encompassed 3/4 of that particular fic. The two-hour car ride back up to school (I start again this Monday) gave me another six points. Keep in mind that this is the first time I have ever tried outlining any fic I've done, and with the way I write (along with a quick total), this outline fulfills over 60% of the minimum required words for a short story. Whether that is impressive or not isn't what I'm trying to get at. I just want my brain to slow down. This fic hasn't stopped fighting me either; I now have an introduction to it as well.

And, my faithful students pony fiction readers, I offer you said introduction, as I have a couple very important questions to ask you pertaining to it.

- Music. Pick any average pony off the street and ask them about it. Sure, they'll probably tell you they like it, but that's all. They'll just be scratching the surface. Those ponies that have dedicated their lives to studying this complex subject can, and will, tell you much, much more. Music far exceeds a simple preference of one over the other; it is a universal language that brings all ponies who practice it together. What happens to these ponies after they've been brought together is their own decision, however. -

In case you couldn't tell from the above, this would be an OctaviaxVinyl shipping fic. (And here I thought I'd never do this style of shipping; confound these ponies.)

So, here's what's troubling me. Storms On the Horizon is still going strong and here comes this new idea. Is it unheard of for an author to have two different fics going at the same time? I know of several pony artists that have multiple projects going on at the same time; I actually follow most of them on Tumblr.

I ask, can authors get even away with that?
